Company History

Traditional craft serving modern industry

The history of today’s ZLH Plus, a. s. dates back to 1782, when the first blast furnaces and a hammer mill were built in the municipality of Hronec. As early as in the first half of the 19th century, the largest foundry in the Kingdom of Hungary arose here – a strong foundation for the tradition on which we build today.

Since 1952, the plant has been producing steel castings, but after an extensive refurbishment in 1987, the foundry focused primarily on the production of ductile iron castings, where it gradually became one of the leading European manufacturers in terms of quality.

In 2000, the company limited by shares ZLH, a. s. was founded. It has been operating under the name ZLH Plus, a. s. since 2008. It focuses on the production of castings from gray cast iron, ductile cast iron and cast steel – especially for the railway industry, gearboxes, agricultural and construction machinery.

Today, ZLH Plus is part of Optifin Invest, a strong industrial group.

And thanks to the combination of craft tradition with modern technology, it is one of the stable and reliable partners in the foundry industry.
